ABOUT US

Founded in 2005, we are a community of people who seek to know and follow Jesus Christ.  Pastors Jerry and Karyn Reagan launched Lifeline in response to the Lord’s clear call for them to start this work in Denton. With the blessing and support of their parent church, they stepped out in obedience and have watched God faithfully provide ever since.

For the first nine years, Lifeline met in temporary facilities such as local schools and a gym.  Each Sunday morning, we set up our equipment and removed it after the service. Then in 2014, God miraculously provided for the beautiful location at 2800 Pennsylvania Drive in Denton where we now gather to worship. God’s provision was so incredible that we wrote down the story in a booklet titled God Did It!   Connecting people to Jesus Christ, here and around the world, is the reason we exist!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Because Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again, we have the provisions of salvation, healing, deliverance, and the confidence that He is coming again. The Scriptures were inspired by God, through the Holy Spirit, and are without error.  The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and serves as our infallible guide for life.

  • There is one God revealing Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, referred to as the Trinity.
  • The virgin birth, sinless life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ confirm His deity.
  • The only means of salvation is through Jesus Christ and His shed blood.
  • Water baptism by immersion and holy communion are acts of obedience for the believer.
  • The baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to believers.
  • The power of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to live a holy life.
  • The Church’s responsibility is evangelism, worship, and discipleship.

OUR VISION

I SEE A CHURCH
Jerry Reagan / The Faith to Believe
Early in our history, the Holy Spirit gave Pastor Jerry the faith to believe that Lifeline Church is becoming the church described below.
I see a Church…
  • full of people of varied races and ethnicities; socio-economic status, and ages who gather in unity to worship God.
  • where the leadership from pastor on down is transparent, genuine and honest and without pretense of spirituality.
  • where worship is a way of life that is lived 24/7.
  • where prayer is as natural as breathing.
  • where praise is extravagant.
  • where men are unashamedly spiritual and unreservedly devoted to service.
  • that operates in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • where the people are proactive in their compassion, concern and care for one another.
  • where people in Denton, when they are awakened to their spiritual emptiness, turn to us to find God.
  • where people know they are safe in the love of God.
  • where young people know God is real and He is the coolest, hippest, crunkest (or whatever the latest jargon or slang is) person around.
  • that sends workers into the great spiritual harvest to establish lifelines to Jesus Christ wherever they go.

FOUR STRATEGIES

The Holy Spirit clearly revealed four strategies that Lifeline Church must pursue and implement to advance the Kingdom of God in our city and beyond. These strategies are not to be segmented into individual silos; they are interconnecting and interdependent. Everything we do will seek to advance these strategies.

Prayer is the undergirding and overshadowing of all the other strategies. Prayer invites and initiates the hand of God to move upon the earth. “Fervent” describes the intensity. It’s moving beyond routine prayers. Prayer becomes fervent when God’s people understand, accept and embrace the reality and possibilities (Nothing is impossible with God!) of the awesome power and rule of God being brought to bear in their lives and experiences, as well as those areas for which the Lord has burdened or impressed them to pray.

Consistent = way of life, and Evangelism = bringing Good News. Sharing the Gospel and reaching the lost should be our lifestyle, not an occasional occurrence.

God’ expectation of every believer is that we become a mature follower of Christ. Remaining a spiritual baby or child is not an option. The responsibility for spiritual maturity rests with both the teacher and the student. The teacher has the responsibility to present the truth with clarity and diligence. The student has the responsibility to pay attention and apply diligently what he has been taught. It’s a choice that we make. Will we invest the effort into growing up in God? Or will we be lazy or indifferent about our spiritual growth? Disciples are people who exercise discipline to learn what the master is teaching them. The aim is to be able to “go and make disciples.”

This strategy encompasses both the Lifeline Church community and also the broader community in which God has placed us. We aren’t saved by our good works but are saved to do good works.

We will evangelize and meet physical and soul needs of people. Freely we have received, freely we must give. This is about taking care of others in a selfless way…loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Looking at the life and ministry of Jesus, we see these four strategies moving together in beautiful harmony. Jesus stayed in fellowship and communion with Father God through regular and frequent prayer, and it was out of that relationship that He declared the Good News that He had come to seek and to save the lost, taught His followers the way of the Kingdom, and addressed the spiritual, soul and physical needs of people. He didn’t put these strategies in silos and focus on one or two of them. It wasn’t “either/or” but “all of the above” for the Lord. So it will be with Lifeline Church!
